Programs
begin in September of each year. Selections occur throughout the
year and, whenever possible, a decision will be made on your
application as soon as we have received all required documents.
If you have completed college or university-level courses
elsewhere, you may be eligible to receive credit for those
courses. Most programs at the University of Alberta
consist of 120 units of course weight (ucw) and will take four
years to complete. Provided the courses you have taken fit your
program, you may receive credit up to a maximum of 60 ucw. Test
of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 580 or
237 if computer based
are required. The
approximate cost in Canadian funds for a full-time student for
one Fall/Winter (September - April) is as follows:$7500 Tution,
$750 for Books & Supplies, Living $6,000.This is a minimal
estimate of costs and does not include travel expenses to and
from Canada. Many students will encounter greater costs,
especially in the area of living expenses.

A minimum score of 220 on the Computer-Based TOEFL (Test of
English as a Foreign Language). Faculties of Law and
Medicine require 250; or minimum score of 560 on the Paper-Based
TOEFL (Faculties of Law and Medicine require 600); or a minimum
score of 550 on the Paper-Based TOEFL accompanied by a minimum
score of 5.0 on the TWE (Test of Written English); or
BANGLADESH: Higher Secondary Certificate; Intermediate
Certificate. Undergraduate tuition per academic term (two
semesters, Sept.-Dec. and Jan.-April). Please note that the
average course-load for a full time student is 5 half courses
per semester or 10 half courses per academic term. Cost of one
half course $ 766.80, Cost of ten half courses
$7,668.00. Tuition is assessed on the basis of the number of
courses a student takes. International students are required to
take a minimum of 3 half courses per semester in order to retain
their full-time student status. A single student living
economically can manage on approximately $18,000. This
estimate includes tuition, living expenses, and miscellaneous
costs, but does not include transportation costs to and from Canada.
